FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is candle sand?

Candle sand is granulated candle wax that looks and feels like fine sand. You pour it into any heat-safe container, place a wick, and light it — no melting or special equipment needed.

Is candle sand reusable?

Yes! Unlike traditional candles, candle sand doesn't fully melt. The wax around the wick liquefies briefly then re-solidifies. Simply replace the wick when it burns down and your sand is ready to use again.

What containers can I use?

Any heat-resistant container works — glass jars, ceramic bowls, teacups, wine glasses, decorative vessels, and more. Just make sure it's heat-safe and placed on a stable surface.

Can I add fragrance to candle sand?

Absolutely! Mix a few drops of candle-safe fragrance oil into the sand before pouring. Our Fragrance Oil Collection is specifically formulated for use with candle sand.

How long does candle sand burn?

Burn time depends on the container size and wick used. Generally, 1 lb of candle sand provides approximately 10-15 hours of burn time in a standard glass vessel.

Is candle sand safe?

Yes. Our candle sand is made from premium paraffin wax, burns cleanly with no soot, and is safe to use in any heat-resistant container. Always follow basic candle safety guidelines.

Can I mix different colors?

Yes! Layering and mixing colors is one of the best features of candle sand. Create ombré effects, seasonal displays, or your own unique color combinations in clear glass vessels.

How much candle sand do I need?

As a guide: a small glass (3") needs about 0.25 lb, a medium vessel (5") about 0.5 lb, and a large vessel (8") about 1-1.5 lb. Our Starter Kit includes everything for your first candle.
